Making a ginger drink without a juicer

By hilling · · 1 minute

You do not need a juicer to make a small ginger drink. A grater and a fine strainer can handle a single-glass experiment with much less equipment to clean.

Grate a little prepared ginger into a bowl. Mix it with orange juice, let the pieces disperse, then strain into a glass. Add lemon in small amounts after you have tasted the ginger-orange base.

For a smoother result, use a clean food-safe straining cloth rather than squeezing solids through a coarse sieve. Start small: a tablespoon of grated ginger can be much more than one glass needs. If you like the result, record the amount before making a larger batch. The test-batch recipe gives you a modest place to begin.
