How to strain ginger juice without making a mess

By hilling · · 1 minute

Strain into a bowl with room around the sieve, not directly into a narrow bottle. The wider target catches drips and lets you see how much liquid you have collected.

Set the strainer firmly over the bowl before pouring. Add the mixture gradually, especially if it is thick. If liquid stops moving, stir the contents gently instead of pressing hard enough to force pulp through the mesh.

Once you are happy with the texture, transfer the drink using a clean funnel. Rinse the sieve promptly so fibers do not dry into it. This small change in sequence—bowl first, bottle second—usually matters more than buying another gadget. Keep a cloth nearby and leave enough empty space in the bowl to lift the strainer without spilling.
