Keep the label when you decant a drink
By hilling · · 1 minute
If you move a drink into a pitcher or another container, keep the original ingredient and date information with it. A pretty unlabeled bottle is not helpful when someone asks what is inside.
For a gathering, write a short ingredient card using the actual product label. If you added water, fruit, sweetener, or another mixer, include those too. A name such as “golden cooler” can sit above the details, but it should not replace them.
Use a clean food-safe container and follow the original storage instructions. Transferring the drink does not restart its clock or turn it into a different category of product. When the event is over, you should still be able to identify the remaining drink without relying on somebody's memory.
