A simple ginger-orange spritz

By hilling · · 1 minute

For one ginger-orange spritz, combine one ounce of a ginger-citrus drink with four ounces of plain sparkling water. Pour over ice if you like, stir gently, and taste before adding anything else.

A narrow orange slice is enough garnish. If the base already contains lemon, try the drink before squeezing in more; it may have all the tartness it needs. For a softer glass, add another ounce of sparkling water.

Use these quantities as a starting point rather than a fixed rule. Different ginger drinks have different strengths. The useful part is the method: measure the base, add bubbles last, and adjust in the glass. Serve it freshly mixed so the bubbles remain part of the experience.
