Ginger juice vs ginger concentrate

By hilling · · 1 minute

Ginger juice and ginger concentrate are not interchangeable by the spoonful. A concentrate may be designed for dilution, while a ready-to-drink juice is intended to be used as sold. The directions matter more than the name you give it.

Before adding either to a recipe, check whether the label specifies a mixing ratio. Also look for other ingredients: a product called ginger concentrate might already contain citrus or sweetener.

For a homemade drink, add a small measured amount to water, stir, and taste. Write down what you used. That tiny note is much more useful next time than remembering that you poured in “a bit.” For an easy first mix, try the ginger-orange spritz.
