Can you sip a ginger shot slowly?

Yes. A ginger shot does not have to be swallowed in one go. The small bottle is a serving format, not a rule about how fast to drink it.
Pour a little into a glass and take two or three sips. Notice the first citrus taste and what remains after you swallow. If the ginger is stronger than you enjoy, add a splash of water to the glass and try again.
Drinking slowly is also a more useful way to compare recipes. One gulp can flatten everything into “strong” or “not strong.” A slower taste gives you better words: sweet orange, sharp lemon, a warm finish. Stop if it feels unpleasant. There is no bonus for finishing something you do not like.
