Ginger fibers in the glass: what to do
By hilling · · 1 minute
If ginger fibers make a drink unpleasant, strain the mixture rather than blending it for longer and hoping every strand disappears. Start with a kitchen sieve, then use a finer strainer if you want a smoother result.
For grated ginger, you can also squeeze a small amount through a clean food-safe straining cloth into a separate bowl. Measure that liquid into your recipe so the ginger does not overwhelm everything else.
Keep texture and concentration separate in your notes. Straining may make the drink feel smoother without making the ginger flavor mild. If the smooth version is still too intense, adjust the amount or dilution. Those are different fixes, and it helps to know which problem you are trying to solve.
