How to make a ginger drink less intense
By hilling · · 1 minute
The simplest way to soften a ginger drink is to dilute a small portion with water. Start with one tablespoon of the drink and one tablespoon of water, then taste before adjusting the rest.
Adding more citrus is a different change. Orange can make the mixture taste rounder, while lemon can make it sharper. Neither is a neutral substitute for water. If your goal is simply less intensity, test water first.
Keep the original bottle separate while you experiment in a glass. That way, one unsuccessful mix does not change the entire batch. Once you find a balance you enjoy, note the amounts. For a bubbly version, use the same method with plain sparkling water and stir gently rather than shaking.
