A blood-orange ginger soda

By hilling · · 1 minute

For a blood-orange ginger soda, combine two ounces of blood-orange juice, one teaspoon of ginger juice, and four ounces of plain sparkling water. Stir slowly and taste before adding extra citrus.

Blood oranges vary, so judge the juice in your glass rather than expecting one exact color or sweetness. If you want a sharper finish, add lemon a few drops at a time. If the ginger dominates, increase the sparkling water instead.

Use plain sparkling water for the first version so a flavored mixer does not add another variable. A slice of the fruit is enough decoration. This is an independent kitchen suggestion, not a promise that a future bottled Blood Orange Heat recipe will use these quantities.
